Lander has many winter riding opportunities!
Sinks Canyon:
Sinks Canyon offers some of the best and most reliable winter single track riding in the area. In cooperation with Lander Cycling Club we groom the lower Sinks Canyon Trails on a regular basis. LCC purchased a Best Tracksled singletrack groomer and we have been putting it to use since winter 2017.
Loop Road:
The Loop Road and many spurs are groomed for snow machine use by Wyoming State Trails and The Lander Snow Drifters. Fat bikes are allowed on all of these routes but please follow some of the following guidelines.
Please use front and rear flashing lights to be seen better by other users.
Stay to the right, especially on blind corners or areas with poor visibility.
We recommend purchasing a snowmobile permit to support the grooming effort.
Be prepared! These are longer connections, keep in mind weather and conditions can vary wildly.
Willow Creek:
Willow Creek Trails are a system of trails located on South Pass. This winter (2022/2023) Lander Cycling Club has been grooming this area twice a week as needed! This has made this are a great place for fat biking as well as many other snow travel uses. Bring your skis, snowshoes, dog or fat bike and enjoy these rolling trails through a great rock and forested landscape. Access is now provided for this area from The Rock Shop Inn. Park outside the buck and rail fence and proceed straight through the cabins to the tailhead at the back of the property. Please be respectful and keep your dog under close supervision while on the property. Soon The The Rock Shop Inn will have an open Bar and Restaurant!
Beaver Creek:
The trails at Beaver Creek are quite well maintained but neither fat bikes or dogs are allowed on these trails. Check with Lander Nordic Ski Association to see if anything changes or for more information.
